The SQ series from RECOM sister company PCS comprises high-efficiency DIN rail power supplies with ratings from 60W to 1500W and single trimmable DC outputs of alternatively +12V, +24V or +48V dependent on variant. Input AC ranges include nominal 24Vac and single/three phase mains for all standard voltages between 80 and 576 Vac, 50/60Hz. Additionally, most parts accept high voltage DC inputs from 80Vdc up to 810Vdc depending on variant. Units are fully enclosed and self-contained with included EMC filtering, inrush current limiting, fusing and output protection against over-current, over-voltage and short circuits.

The CE-marked SQ series complies with industrial standards for safety and EMC, and housings meet the requirements for industry-standard TS35 metal DIN rail mounting defined by EN 50022 for electrical cabinet installation. Connections are by screw terminals and some variants include an output inhibit control. Housing size of the SQ series varies from 106 x 140 x 50mm for the 60W part to 246 x 264 x 80mm for the fan-cooled 1500W part.

The IPS series of inverters from PCS, an RECOM sister company, comprises parts rated from 500VA (300W) to 3000VA (2100W). Variants include input voltages of 24Vdc (20-30V), 48 Vdc (40-57V) and 110Vdc (88-140V). The output is a pure regulated sine wave with full galvanic isolation from the input. The IPS1200 provides three-phase 115Vac, the ID250 one-phase 115Vac or 230Vac and the IPS rack version one-phase 230Vac. Parts are available in 19-inch rack mount format: 19-inch x 3U (HE) x 350mm for 500-1000VA and 19-inch x 4U (HE) x 350mm for 2000 and 3000VA variants. Open frame versions are also available for custom mounting.

The IPS series is ideal for providing back-up AC power for industrial, office and telecommunication systems with high efficiency and small size, while polarized connectors allow for quick and safe mating and disconnection. This series of equipment power supplies, available as open frame or fully enclosed, features output power ratings from 30 to 1200W and single-phase AC input, either universal 85/90 – 264Vac or switchable between 115 and 230Vac nominal, depending on variant. Single outputs of 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V, 48V and 110Vdc are available, along with triple and quad output variants in various combinations. Parts with DC inputs are also available. All products feature input EMI filtering, inrush current limitation and soft start, with a typical hold-up time of 20ms. Outputs are fully isolated and trimmable +/-10% (single output variants) and feature over-current, over-voltage and no-load/short circuit protection. Parts are characterized with natural convection and forced air for maximum flexibility. Higher power parts include optional features such as paralleling control, gating diodes, inhibit/power fail signals and programmable output voltage.

The range includes a variety of form factors for building in to customers’ enclosures with some parts including a DIN rail mounting option. These power supplies are suitable for harsh industrial environments, meeting appropriate safety and EMC specifications and their quality is guaranteed by 3750Vac hi-pot insulation verification and automatic factory testing, both before and after a minimum of 12 hours high temperature, full load burn-in. This series of Euro rack-mount power supplies features output power ratings from 60 to 1500W and single-phase AC input, either universal 90-264Vac or switchable between 115 and 230Vac nominal depending on variant (1500W parts are 180-264Vac). Parts with DC inputs are also available. Single output voltages include 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V, 48V and 110Vdc. All products feature input EMI filtering, inrush current limitation and soft start, with a typical hold-up time of 20ms. Outputs are fully isolated and trimmable +/-10% and feature over-current, over-voltage and no-load/short circuit protection. Parts are characterized with natural convection and forced air for maximum flexibility. Higher power parts include optional features such as paralleling control, gating diodes and inhibit, power fail and alarm signals.

All parts in the series are 3U (3HE) height and vary from 10HP (10TE) width for the 60W version to full 19-inch rack width for the 1500W version. Test points, indicators and the output trim potentiometer are accessible on the unit front panels. 60W, 125W, 200W, 1000W parts are rated for full power with natural convection while the 1200W and 1500W parts have internal fans. Railway DC-DC converters from RECOM sister company PCS range from 3W to 240W with a selection of single, dual and triple DC output voltages. Input voltage ranges include nominal 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V and 110Vdc with some variants covering multiple nominals such as the SD86-IRX model with its 43-154Vdc input. Mechanical formats include PCB mount, chassis and rack-mount depending on variant. Generally, isolation is provided to international standards but non-isolated parts are also available. For example, part SD36-IRX rated at 96W in a miniature case size of 160 x 100 x 30mm.

All parts include over-current, over-voltage and short circuit protection and are ruggedized to suit harsh railway applications. Input EMI filtering is included along with inrush current limiting. Cooling is by natural convection and parts are typically rated for full power at 85°C. These DC/DC converters can be used in railway control displays, signalling devices, radio equipment, battery chargers and braking systems as well as in track-side equipment where reliability is paramount.
