RPH-3.0 High input voltage point of load converter

The RECOM RPH-3.0 is a 3A point of load buck converter in a compact 10 x 12 x 4mm QFN SMD package with a wide input voltage range from 4.5V to 55 V DC, allowing 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V batteries to be used. Following RECOM’s ‘Power Packaging’ concept, the shielded inductor is integrated, and the control IC is flip-chip mounted for outstanding electrical and thermal performance.

The output voltage can be set using two resistors in the range of 1V-15V, and a single resistor sets the operating frequency in the range of 100 – 1000kHz. Comprehensive functionality is provided with on/off control, a power good signal, soft-start and full protection against short circuits, over-voltage, over-temperature and overload. With derating, the part can operate reliably at ambient temperatures of up to 125°C.

RPX/RPY: Ultra compact QFN-package power module

RECOM RPX and RPY modules are exceptional due to their flip-chip technology, which increases power density and improves thermal management.
RECOM’s new power modules RPX-1.0, RPX-1.5, RPX-2.5, and RPX-4.0 have high power density footprints using thermally-enhanced QFN packages (SMD) for an operating temperature up to at least 85°C without forced air cooling. The 1A and 1.5A versions in 3mm x 5mm x 1.6mm QFN packages accept an input voltage range up to 36VDC and down to 4 VDC, allowing 5V, 12V, 15V, or unregulated 24VDC supply voltages to be used. The output voltage can be set with two resistors in the range from 0.8VDC up to 30VDC. The RPY also has an input voltage range of 4 – 36VDC, but instead of a regulated output voltage offers a dimmable constant current output of up to 1.5A, making it ideal for driving light power LEDs.

The 2.5A version in a 4 x 4.5 x 2.0mm QFN package accepts an input voltage range up to 28VDC and down to 4.5VDC, allowing 5V, 12V, 15V, or 24VDC supply voltages to be used. The output voltage can be set with two resistors in the range from 1.2VDC up to 6VDC.

The input range for RPX-4.0 is from 3.8V to 36VDC, allowing 5V, 12V, or 24VDC supply voltages to be used. It also features a programmable output voltage from 1V to 7VDC. This tiny converter (5.0 x 5.5 x 4.1mm) with its incredible thermal management opens up new possibilities in industrial automation, portable devices, and high-density or weight-sensitive applications.

Products in the RPX series are complete power modules with integrated power transistors and inductors, requiring only input and output capacitors and voltage setting resistors to form fully functioning power regulators with short-circuit protection, over current limiting and thermal shutdown. A resistor divider on the input allows an under-voltage lockout voltage to be set to protect battery-powered supplies from over-discharge. A resistor divider on the output allows the output voltage to be set over a very wide range. An enable input permits voltage supply sequencing and low power consumption in shutdown (microamps). State-of-the-art integration and RECOM’s ‘3D Power Packaging’ technology deliver optimal thermal management and high power density while lowering manufacturing costs, giving you exceptional electrical and thermal performance at a very affordable price.

RPL series from RECOM are point of load converters in LGA SMD packages with a wide input and output range

The RECOM RPL-1.0, RPL-3.0 and RPL-5.0 are 1 amp, 3 amp and 5A point of load buck converters in a tiny 3 x 3mm LGA SMD package. The input range of the RPL-1.0 is 3V to 22V and the RPL-3.0 is 4V to 18V, while the RPL-5.0 starts lower at 2.75V to 17V. The output voltage can be set using two resistors in the range of 0.6V to 12V (RPL-1.0 and RPL-5.0) or 0.8V to 5.2V (RPL-3.0).

The RECOM RPL-10 and RPL-20 are high current 10 amp and 20Apeak point of load buck converters in a compact 7 x 7mm LGA SMD package. The input range of the RPL-10 and RPL-20 is 4V to 16V, while the output voltage can be set using two resistors in the range of 0.6V to 5.5V.

Following RECOM’s ‘Power Packaging’ concept, the inductor is integrated and the control IC is embedded within the substrate for outstanding electrical and thermal performance. Only a few low-cost passive components are needed to create a fully functioning power supply. Comprehensive functionality is provided with output voltage sensing (3A and 5A), on/off control, a power good signal and full protection against short circuits, over-voltage, over-temperature and overload. With derating, the parts can operate reliably at ambient temperatures of up to 125°C.

RPZ: Low input voltage high current power modules

RECOM RPZ modules are exceptional due to constant-on-time current control, giving an ultra-fast regulation of dynamic load transients.

RECOM’s new RPZ power modules RPZ-0.5, RPZ-1.0, RPZ-2.0, RPZ-3.0A and RPZ-6.0 have high power density footprints using thermally enhanced SMD packages for an operating temperature up to more than 100°C without forced air cooling. The innovative constant-on-time control loop eliminates the delay due to an internal compensation network and permits ultra-fast regulation of transient loads and conversion efficiencies up to 92%.

The 0.5A and 1A versions in 2mm x 2mm QFN packages accept an input voltage range from 2.3V up to 5.5V, allowing 3.3V or 5V fixed supply voltages or a single Li-ion cell to be used. The output voltage can be set with two resistors in the range from 0.6VDC up to 5.25VDC.

The 2A and 3A versions in 2.5mm x 3.5mm QFN packages accept an input voltage range from 2.75V up to 6V, allowing 3.3V or 5V fixed supply voltages or a single Li-ion cell to be used. The output voltage can be set with two resistors in the range from 0.6VDC up to 5.5VDC.

The 6A version in a 4 x 6mm QFN package accepts an input voltage range up to 7VDC and down to 2.75VDC, allowing 3.3V or 5V fixed supply voltages or a single Li-ion cell or a 6V battery to be used. The output voltage can be set with two resistors in the range from 0.6VDC up to 6.65VDC.

RECOM Power Modules: Compact low profile DOSA-compatible converters made in Europe!

RECOM’s latest innovation increases the power density of low profile DC/DC converters to a new level.

The Power Modules are successfully designed, tested, and manufactured – all in Europe! They are SMD with a land-grid-array package, and with input and output capacitors already included, the RPM series operates without the need for additional components.

The Power Modules stand out due to their exceptional efficiency of up to 99%, enabling a low-profile package to fit perfectly in applications where space is critical. These modules offer one of the highest power densities in a compact footprint on the market with a profile of only 3.75mm. They provide 1, 2, 3, or even 6A in the same-sized package for scalability.

The 6A module has at least 50% higher power density than its peers on the market, all thanks to the new IC and a novel multilayered PCB layout. It is thermally optimized to channel the heat away from the board - so without derating, it delivers over 800W/in³ at up to 90°C. With a ground plane in the PCB together with the metal housing, the 6-sided shielding guarantees great EMC performance.

Non-isolated DC/DC range in SMD LGA footprint now includes inputs up to 36V

The RPMB are non-isolated DC/DCs providing 2A and 3A and come with adjustable output from 1-24V and input voltage up to 36V.

The 12.19 x 12.19 x 3.75mm DOSA-compatible thermally-enhanced LGA package. Preset outputs available are 3.3V (trimmable 1-9V), 5V (trimmable 1-9V), 12V (trimmable 9-24V) or 15V (trimmable 9-24V). All variants operate with a low dropout voltage of 500mV or less.
