    R-78AAシリーズのような一部のRECOMコンバータには、2レベルの制御ピン機能があります。制御ピンの電圧が2.6Vを下回ると、主電力段はオフになりますが、内部発振器と電圧レギュレータは動作し続けます。これにより、スタンバイからフルパワーまで非常に迅速な再起動が可能になります。超低電力モードの場合、制御ピンの電圧は1.6V未満でなければなりません。その後メイン発振器もオフになり、コンバータの消費電流はわずか20µAになります。ディープスリープからの起動は、スタンバイからの起動よりも遅くなります。
    絶縁型DC/DCコンバーターには、入力と出力の間に電気的接続がありません。したがって、Vin+が正の電源に接続されVin-がグラウンドに接続されているか、Vin+がグラウンドに接続されVin-が負の電源に接続されているかは関係ありません。これは、例えば標準の-48V電源を使用して+5Vを出力する通信業界のシステムで役立ちます（Vin+ =グラウンド、Vin- = -48V、Vout + = 5V、Vout- =グラウンド）。
    これは非絶縁型スイッチングレギュレータには適用されませんが、R-78シリーズは正の入力電圧から負の出力電圧を生成するように設定できます（アプリケーションノートを参照下さい）。
    コントローラーチップには多段式シャットダウンがあります。
    オン：オープンまたは0V 0.6V：最小静止電流-すべての回路がシャットダウン-最も遅い再起動応答時間
    オフ（スタンバイ）：0.6V 2.9V：出力電力およびPWM発振器がオフ-中程度の再起動応答時間
    オフ（シャットダウン）：2.9V 6V：出力電力オフ、他の全ての回路がアクティブ-最も速い再起動応答時間
    イネーブルピンには2つの機能があります。2.6V未満では、コンバータはオフになります（電力出力段はオフになりますが、コンバータの発振器はまだ動作しています）。 1.6V未満では、コンバータは超低電力モード（20µAシャットダウンモード）に入ります。
    R-78シリーズスイッチングコンバータは、全ての動作条件下での安定出力が保証される6mAの最小負荷で使用することをお勧めします。
    そのピンで許容される絶対最大電圧は15Vですが、5Vより高くすることは推奨されません。入力を制御ピンに直接接続することはできません。
    コンデンサのタイプは重要ではありません。例えば、低品質ながら比較的高価なESRコンデンサを入力部に配置すると、内部抵抗がスイッチオンサージ発振を減衰させる利点があります。
    入力または出力のMLCCと、並列のタンタルコンデンサまたは電解コンデンサの組み合わせは、両タイプのコンデンサの利点を生み出します（リンギングを減らすための高ESR、ノイズをフィルターするための低ESR）。
    外付け部品は不要です。入力コンデンサが推奨されるのは、入力電圧が26Vを超える場合のみです。出力コンデンサは出力リップルをさらに減らすのに役立ちますが、元々リップルは比較的低いものです。
    R-78はリニアレギュレータよりも高機能であるため、コストが高くなります。3ピンリニアレギュレータに似ているように見えますが、はるかに効率的で、内部の制御チップは過負荷、過熱、ショートからコンバータを保護します。これにより、非常に堅牢で損傷しにくくなります。
    コンバータ自体のコストが高くても、一次電源で節約できるコスト（出力電流が少なくて済む）、組み立て（邪魔になるヒートシンク、ネジ、ナット、サーマルペーストがない）および在庫（リニアレギュレータ+ヒートシンク+取り付け+入力および出力コンデンサを含めた7つの部品ではなく1つの部品）を考慮すると、R-78の方が「より安い」リニアレギュレータよりも全体的な電源コストが安くなります。
