We have set a new standard for a combination of size, power cost-effectiveness, and efficiency with our new RPZ series of non-isolated buck converters along with a new RPL series variant.
The RPZ series includes parts rated at 0.5A, 1A, 2A, 3A, and 6A with input ranges down to 2.3V and up to 7V, depending on the variant. Output voltages are programmable down to 0.6V and up to a value close to the input voltage. The new RPL-5.0 delivers 5A from a wide-ranging 2.75-17V input at a programmable output voltage between 0.6V and 12V.
All parts are in thermally-enhanced packages with flip-chip technology and range from just 2 x 2mm footprint for the RPZ-0.5 with 2mm profile to 4 x 6 x 1.6mm for the RPZ-6.0 and RPL-5.0. Ambient operating temperature is up to 125°C with derating and efficiency is up to 92%, depending on variant.
Full protection is provided against short circuits, over-current, over-temperature, and input undervoltage for ‘fit-and-forget’ operations in demanding applications. A power good and enable pin are available on the higher-power variants.
Typical applications for the RPZ and RPL DC/DCs are for microcontrollers, sensors, embedded systems, portable electronics, IoT devices, consumer electronics, and medical devices.
