Chassis Mount AC/DC Power Supplies

RECOM’s chassis-mounted AC/DC power supplies are engineered for seamless integration into industrial, medical, test and measurement systems. Designed as robust "build-in" solutions, these high-efficiency power supplies span from compact 4W modules for IIoT to massive 20kW systems. RECOMs core mid-power range, spanning 15–1200W, offers the versatility required for diverse industrial power applications, featuring high power density modules with a minimum of 3kVAC isolation.

For space-constrained building automation, low power Class II solutions with chamfered corners to fit inside standard recessed wall boxes are available, while the wired modules provide up to IP68 protection for harsh environments. Higher-power Class I units (from 230W) utilize active Power Factor Correction (PFC), and these RACM1200-V and RACM600-L variants with PMbus interfaces allow advanced digital control topologies to optimize performance in test and measurement equipment. Whether you require a specialized medical power supply or rugged automation power solutions, RECOM provides fully certified (UL/IEC/EN) modules designed for long-term reliability and minimal no-load power consumption.

    Frequently Asked Questions

A chassis mount power supply is an AC/DC converter designed to be bolted or fixed directly to the internal frame or "chassis" of a piece of equipment. Unlike PCB-mount modules, these units often feature screw terminals or wires for easier integration into large-scale systems where a dedicated circuit board may not be the primary mounting surface.
Yes, many of our chassis-mounted units are designed as a medical power supply solution. These modules feature the necessary 2xMOPP (Means of Patient Protection) isolation and comply with IEC/EN 60601-1 safety standards, making them safe for use in medical electrical equipment.
In high-power applications (typically above 75W), active Power Factor Correction improves energy efficiency by ensuring the current waveform matches the voltage waveform. This reduces harmonic distortion on the AC line, ensuring your system complies with international standards like EN61000-3-2 and runs cooler over time.
Class I power supplies rely on basic insulation and a protective earth (ground) connection for safety. Class II power supplies use double or reinforced insulation and do not require a protective earth connection. This makes Class II modules highly versatile for transportation power solutions and building automation where a reliable ground may not be available.
