The electronics industry is in transition from the decades old 60950-1 safety standard to the modern, hazard-engineering based, replacement safety standard 62368-1. From the end of this year, most electronic appliances that are only certified to EN 60950-1 will no longer be able to claim compliance to the Low Voltage Directive and will lose their CE marking.
RECOM is well prepared for this transition and has prepared a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) landing page to explain our own transition strategy and to guide our customers to help them also make this
The transition landing page also links to a RECOM Blog Aricle
“The Safety Landscape after ‘60950’” which contains more detailed information on the reasoning behind this major change and other alternative application specific safety standards which can also apply.
