This year, we begin with Thailand, through the organization “One Tree Planted”. Since 2014, this organization has planted over 100 million trees in 80 countries by making it simple for both corporations and individuals to contribute to reforestation efforts. The organization provides regular progress updates, allowing partners to follow the development of the reforestation projects they support.
“Wherever we operate, we have a responsibility to support biodiversity in the local communities,” says Karsten Bier, RECOM CEO. “Instead of turning a blind eye to environmental effects of manufacturing, we’re honing in. We aim to help the new regions we enter flourish far into the future.”
The Thailand program has two branches. First, our efforts support projects aimed at restoring watersheds for local communities and wildlife. Secondly, our donations support agroforestry projects involving more than 1,000 smallholder farmers in the region. By collaborating with local communities, we support reforestation initiatives and community-based economic activities.
